SCI was employed to provide executive protection to a client who was involved in a high-profile court case in South Africa. Threats had been made against the client and his family, as his position as a witness could expose some high-profile individuals and wrongdoing within an elaborate investment structure.

SOLUTION

SCI deployed a Personal Protection Officer (PPO) to escort the client from his home in the UK to South Africa, on arrival his security profile was bolstered discreetly by a low-profile team, unmarked vehicles, and intelligence support. The SCI team provided the client with security 24/7, with the PPO residing with the client, and an intelligence team working locally to identify any potential threats. An additional vulnerability was that of the client’s family back in the UK. Due to the nature of the threat, the family members were provided with personal trackers which were monitored 24/7 and were being observed by a remote surveillance team.

OUTCOME

The client spent a total of 3 months in South Africa, during which he was covered throughout by SCI’s security and support functions. Given the high rate of random violence and incidents in the country, in addition to the credible threats, SCI discreetly managed and controlled all aspects of the client’s trip including travel and logistics, court appearances, secure accommodation, social outings, business and legal meetings. There were no security incidents, and the outcome of the case was in the client’s favor.
