DESCRIPTION

SCI were contracted to investigate an incident of family stalking. Client was contact online, by phone and at the home address. The individual involved presented with threats of intimidation, violence and presented a risk to family including young children.

Family were concerned the obsessed individual was someone close due to the intimate knowledge of the family that they had.

SOLUTION

Full analysis was conducted of the families open source information. A deep dive into all the possible suspects and location of the threat unearthed that the information the harasser had obtained was all through the social media accounts of the mother.

All information of the family used by the harasser was available via Instagram and Facebook.

OUTCOME

SCI presented with the family with the information they obtained about them online. This included (but not limited to) their home address, children’s school, layout of home, times of most regular event in their lives such as school run and activities. It also identified when the husband was out of town and when the family was most vulnerable.

Training on online presence and awareness was given to the whole family and advise on social media handle.
